    Google Verified and Google Screened

    Also called: Google Guaranteed, Google Verified badge, Google Screened badge

    Google Verified, formerly Google Guaranteed, is the badge on Local Services Ads for home service businesses that passed Google's background, license and insurance checks, and Google Screened is the equivalent for professional services such as law and real estate.

    In practice

    The badge only appears on the ad, not on the regular Business Profile, and it only appears while the ads are running. The checks are free; the cost is the per-lead price once the ads are live.

    Passing the check requires a license on file where the state requires one and a general liability certificate, which is why licensing is the first step for a new company.
