TL;DR
CI Web Group is a Houston-headquartered, fully virtual marketing company founded in Dallas in 2006 by Jennifer Bagley, with 38 people by its own count, a stated 1,000-plus active clients across 48 states and Canada, and a trades focus on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing and garage doors. Its whole offer is built on Hydra OS, a proprietary "AI-first website and brand intelligence" platform that every client site runs on. Pricing is published in pieces: websites from $2,500 (to $235,000 for a franchise build) plus hosting from $250 a month on Hydra OS only, content at $16 to $20 a page, an SEO, AEO and GEO agent from $1,000 a month, Google Business Profile management at $600 a month per market, and marketing plans the FAQ says run "typically from $600/mo to $8,000/mo." No term contracts, month to month with 30 days' notice, and no paid advertising at all. On the way out, you keep your content database and front-end design files; "the platform's AI operating system stays with the company."
Skill Mammoth is a Minneapolis boutique for contractors doing $500K to $5M. Websites are $1,000, $3,000 or $8,000 one time, owned outright including the code, with care plans from $350 a month on any host. SEO + AI Search is $750, $1,500 or $3,000 a month, Google Ads $600 a month or 12 percent of spend, Local Services Ads management $1,000 setup plus $300 to $800 a month, all month to month.
The difference is the platform. CI Web Group sells a site that lives on Hydra OS and gets smarter because of it, and that cannot leave with you. We sell a site you can host anywhere and a program you can cancel. If you want AI tooling, manufacturer co-op compliance and a vendor that will never run your ads, CI Web Group is a credible call. If you want to own the asset and run Local Services Ads, it is us. Prices read on October 19, 2026 from both companies' own pages.
Published pricing, side by side
Both columns come from each company's own pricing pages. CI Web Group's homepage and services page disagree in places (websites "from $500" on one, "from $2,500" on the other; content at $16 and $20 a page), so the services page figure is used where they conflict.

What CI Web Group does well
Three things, and the first is the one no other contractor agency on our comparison pages can claim. Manufacturer programs: CI Web Group has been building HVAC sites that follow co-op advertising rules for twenty years, Jennifer Bagley keynotes at HARDI and has appeared on Daikin's national sales stage, and if a Carrier, Lennox or Daikin program is paying part of your marketing bill, a vendor that knows the rulebook saves you the compliance fight. Second, it prints prices for almost everything, down to $5 technical credits and $30 blog posts, which puts it in the small club of trades agencies that publish at all; our pricing transparency study found 30 percent of 271 agencies do. Third, it has gone all in on AI search before most of its peers: AEO blogging, GEO, schema and an AI visibility layer are the product, not an add-on, and for a shop that wants to be cited when a homeowner asks ChatGPT for a furnace installer, that focus is real. No contracts and a 30-day notice period are honest terms, and the company says so plainly.
Where the two models differ
The site. CI Web Group's about page says Hydra OS is "the AI-first website and brand intelligence infrastructure we build every client site on," hosting is "$250/mo, Hydra OS only," and departing clients keep content and design files while the operating system stays. That is the platform model, and it is the same trade as Scorpion's CMS or Housecall Pro's site builder: the site gets features you could not build alone, and the day you leave you rebuild. Our sites are static builds on open tooling that run on any host; the CMS guide explains why that matters less than it sounds for a contractor and more than it sounds on the day you change agencies.
Paid search. CI Web Group does not run ads, by policy. For a contractor that is a gap, because Local Services Ads are the first dollar in most trades, billing per lead at $20 to $80 for most categories per our LSA cost guide; CI Web Group offers an LSA "partnership consultation," which means a referral. We manage LSAs and Google Ads at flat fees and build the follow-up system behind them.
Size and the reviews. CI Web Group states 38 people and 1,000-plus active clients, which is about 26 clients per person, and Clutch lists it at 4.2 across five reviews, a $5,000 minimum and $100 to $149 an hour. Four of the five reviews are five stars, from HVAC, plumbing and real estate clients, one of them since 2006 and one reporting about $4,000 a month. The fifth is a one-star review from a home services company that says it spent about $30,000 and alleges misleading charges, undelivered SEO work and lost site admin access; those are the reviewer's claims, not findings, and the admin-access complaint is the platform question again. We are a smaller shop with a named strategist on every account, which is the trade in the other direction.
The price page itself. CI Web Group's homepage says websites run "from as low as $500 up to $50,000" and marketing starts at "a couple hundred dollars a month"; its services page says websites run $2,500 to $235,000 and plans run $600 to $8,000 a month. Both can be true across tiers, but ask for the quote in writing, because the numbers you see depend on which page you landed on.
Who should pick CI Web Group
An HVAC or plumbing company on a manufacturer co-op program, a franchise or multi-location operator that wants one platform across every market, or an owner who wants AI search tooling handled by software and is comfortable renting the platform it runs on. If you will never run paid ads and you want $30 blog posts and $5 technical credits priced like a menu, this is the shop built for you.
Who should pick Skill Mammoth
A contractor who wants to own the website and everything attached to it, run Local Services Ads and Google Ads from the same team, and buy SEO at a flat $750, $1,500 or $3,000 with AI search included rather than as an agent fee on top. A $500K to $5M residential shop that wants a strategist's phone number rather than a credit balance. And anyone who has left a platform agency before and paid for the rebuild.
Can you use both?
Not easily, because the website is the disagreement. You could keep a Hydra OS site and hire us for Local Services Ads and the follow-up system, and some of our clients run exactly that split with other platform vendors. What you cannot do is take the Hydra OS site with you later, so decide the ownership question first and the agency question second. If CI Web Group is the better fit, we will say so on the call; the HVAC SEO companies list ranks it alongside the other options with every published price.
