    Indexing

Also called: Indexed, Crawled, currently not indexed

Indexing is Google adding a page to its database so it can appear in search results, and a page that has been crawled but not indexed cannot rank for anything.

    In practice

The Pages report in Search Console shows which pages are in and which are out and why. Discovered, currently not indexed usually means the page is thin or has no internal links pointing at it. Crawled, currently not indexed usually means Google read it and did not think it added anything.

The fix is almost always more substance on the page and more links to it from pages that are already indexed, not resubmitting the sitemap.
