    Page speed

Also called: Site speed, Load time

Page speed is how quickly a page becomes usable for a visitor, measured on a phone over a cellular connection, and Google reports it through Core Web Vitals.

    In practice

The usual causes of a slow contractor site are oversized photos and a page builder loading twenty scripts. Add a chat widget and the tracking tags that pile up over the years. Fixing the photos alone often halves the load time.

Test on a real phone on cellular, not on the office wifi.
