SERP
Also called: Search engine results page
SERP stands for search engine results page, the page Google returns after a search, including ads, Local Services Ads, the map pack, an AI Overview, regular links and other features.
In practice
For a home service search the order from the top is usually Local Services Ads, Google Ads, the map pack, then regular results. A business that is only in the regular results is below three other blocks.
What the SERP contains for a term tells you where to compete. If it is all map pack and ads, a blog post will not help.
