Map pack
Also called: Local 3-pack, Local pack, Google 3-pack
The map pack is the block of three business listings with a map that Google shows above the regular results for local searches such as plumber near me.
In practice
Which three appear depends on how close each business is to the searcher, how well its category and services match the query, and how prominent it is: reviews, links and mentions elsewhere. The three change block by block across a city.
Checking rank from the office alone is misleading, because the office is the one spot where the business is closest. A grid check shows what customers five miles away see.
