TL;DR
Charlotte's SEO bench is deeper than its size suggests, and the first thing to check is whether the agency is in Charlotte at all: two of the page-one results for "seo company charlotte" are landing pages for firms headquartered in Cincinnati and Texas. The local shops worth a call: Premier Marketing (2020, home services and professional practices, 4.9 to 5.0 across roughly 100 reviews, listed from $2,500 a month on Semrush), GoBeyond SEO (Ballantyne and Uptown offices, home services and law firms, a "double your leads in 90 days" guarantee with an asterisk), Charlotte SEO Firm (North Tryon, month-to-month), Uplift Charlotte SEO (2024, Google Maps work for home services, a map-pack pin), Knowmad (2002, B2B), Kashmer Interactive (mid-market, Fort Mill plus a Charlotte office), Epic Notion (Tremont Avenue, full service) and Outpace SEO (Oklahoma City plus Charlotte, 5.0 on 116 Clutch reviews). Skill Mammoth (ours, remote) is the flat-fee option at $350 to $1,500 a month. Everything here was read from the agencies' own sites, Clutch and Semrush on October 13, 2026.
Disclosure first: Skill Mammoth is a Minneapolis agency that serves North Carolina contractors remotely, and we are on this list. The eight Charlotte shops are ranked the way we rank our national roundups: by who each one fits, what they charge when they will say, and what we would tell a friend. Where an agency publishes no price, the table says so instead of guessing.

Search "seo company charlotte" on October 13, 2026 and the map pack shows a Charlotte SEO Firm listing, an SEO Company Charlotte listing and Uplift Charlotte SEO. Organic position two is Helium SEO's Charlotte page, and Helium's own copy says the company "is headquartered in Cincinnati and serves Charlotte clients through a dedicated Digital Strategy Consultant." Position six is a Thrive roundup of Charlotte agencies that ranks Thrive, of Arlington, Texas, first. Clutch, a LinkedIn article and The Manifest fill three more slots. The local organic results are Charlotte SEO Firm (domain rating 37), Digital Kings Networking (39) and GoBeyond SEO (34). So the SERP rewards whoever wrote the best Charlotte page, local or not. The map pack is where the Charlotte shops actually compete.
1. Skill Mammoth (ours)
The flat-fee option: local SEO at $350, $750 or $1,500 a month, sites at $1,000, $3,000 or $8,000, no contracts. AI search optimization sits inside the SEO tiers. We are a performance shop for home service contractors and local practices, and we already model the Charlotte market: our Charlotte HVAC page counts 579 HVAC businesses on Google Maps within 40 km of Uptown, "hvac Charlotte" at 1,600 searches a month and "ac repair Charlotte" at 880 with a $51.33 top-of-page bid, and a map pack led by Morris-Jenkins at more than 36,000 reviews. Honest limitation: we are not in Charlotte, we will not meet you in South End, and a bank or a B2B software company belongs with the two firms built for that work below.
2. Premier Marketing
Founded 2020 per a competitor's roundup and Charlotte-based. It is the review leader among the local shops: 5.0 across 93 reviews on one listing, 4.9 across 107 on Semrush, where the profile also shows a $2,500 starting price. Clutch has it at 4.8 on six reviews with a $5,000 minimum project and a $100 to $149 hourly rate, so the two directories disagree on the floor. The focus is SEO, paid search, web design and lead generation for home services and professional practices, which is the same lane we work. Fit: a Charlotte contractor or clinic with $2,500 to $5,000 a month who wants a local team with a review record to check.
3. GoBeyond SEO
Two addresses, Brixham Hill in Ballantyne and South Tryon Uptown. Organic position ten. The verticals are law firms, home and commercial services (roofing, HVAC, remodeling, storage, home builders), franchises, staffing and accounting firms. The headline promise is "We will double your leads in 90 days or we will refund your money," with an asterisk whose terms are not on the page, and the site also commits to client ownership of everything built ("No Golden Handcuffs") and to not working with direct competitors in the same region. No pricing; a 30-minute discovery call is the entry point. Fit: a trade or firm that wants an exclusivity promise and will get the guarantee terms in writing first.
4. Charlotte SEO Firm
The tenth floor of 401 North Tryon, with a map-pack pin and organic position five under its own name. Services are Google placement, conversion optimization, remarketing and web design; the page names no founders, states that all work is done in-house, promises "month-to-month contracts" for every client, and shows a Google Partner badge and a Forbes mention. Pricing comes back after a discovery form. The client logos include an electrical contractor, and the site's "business spotlight" features a local roofer. Fit: an owner who wants an Uptown office and a monthly term, and will push for the quote on the first call.
5. Uplift Charlotte SEO
Founded 2024 and run by Jason Shaffer. Already a map-pack pin for the city's SEO keyword, which is a decent portfolio piece for a two-year-old shop. The work is Google Maps SEO, on-page SEO, content and web design for home and personal services, and the testimonials credit map-pack rankings and a site redesign. Thrive's roundup notes "no case studies available." Fit: a small home service business that wants map-pack work from a one-person shop and can live without a case study library.
Not sure whether you need a local shop or a flat-fee one?
Fifteen minutes on what you sell, where you rank in Huntersville and Matthews today, and whether an agency is even the next step. No pitch deck.
6. Knowmad Digital Marketing
Charlotte, founded 2002. The B2B specialist on this list: SEO, search ads and inbound marketing for companies that sell to other companies, with 21 client references on its profile rather than star ratings. If your buyer is a procurement manager rather than a homeowner, this is the first call, and most of the other agencies here are the wrong call.
7. Kashmer Interactive
Headquartered in Fort Mill, South Carolina, with a Charlotte office on East Boulevard, founded by Korey Kashmer, and aimed at "mid-market businesses throughout the U.S." with SEO, generative engine optimization, paid search and social, email and conversion work. The site's structured data lists a 5.0 across 28 reviews for Fort Mill and 8 for Charlotte. No pricing, no founding year, "20-plus years" of experience claimed. Fit: a regional company with a marketing manager who wants one agency for search and paid and does not need a home-services specialist.
8. Epic Notion
West Tremont Avenue, founded 2007 per Thrive's list. A full-service digital agency with SEO, paid media, ecommerce, social and PR, branding and web development. Named clients include Atrium Health, Harris Teeter and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, and the verticals are healthcare, local services, senior living, finance, ecommerce and nonprofit. No pricing on the site; Thrive reports a no-contract SEO offer and a 5.0 across 22 reviews. Fit: an institution or a multi-location healthcare group that wants the creative and the search work under one roof.
9. Outpace SEO
Dual headquarters in Oklahoma City and Charlotte, 13-plus years. The best Clutch record of anyone claiming the city: 5.0 across 116 reviews, a $1,000 minimum project and a $150 to $199 hourly rate. The site lists real estate, healthcare, SaaS, automotive and a dozen other industries, plus a free consultation that includes an audit it values at $2,400. Fit: a company that wants a Clutch-verified SEO specialist and does not need the team down the street.
Names to read carefully
Helium SEO (organic position two) publishes campaigns "starting at $2,500" a month with a Cincinnati headquarters and a Charlotte consultant. Thrive (position six) is in Arlington, Texas, and ranks itself first on its own Charlotte list. Straight North, second on Clutch's Charlotte page with 142 reviews, is a Chicago agency with a Charlotte address. Digital Kings Networking (position seven) lists no street address and no pricing on its site. RevLocal, on Thrive's list, is a Hibu company, and our Hibu comparison covers what that ownership means for contract terms. None of this makes any of them bad; it makes "where is your team" the right first question.
What they charge, side by side
| Agency | Published price or signal (Oct 13, 2026) | Source | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Skill Mammoth (ours) | SEO $350, $750, $1,500 a month; sites $1,000 to $8,000 | skillmammoth.com/pricing | Contractors and practices under $1,500 a month |
| Premier Marketing | From $2,500 a month (Semrush); $5,000 minimum project (Clutch) | Semrush and Clutch profiles | Home services and professional practices |
| GoBeyond SEO | Not published; guarantee with unstated terms | Agency homepage | Trades and law firms wanting exclusivity |
| Charlotte SEO Firm | Not published; month-to-month contracts | Agency homepage | Owners wanting an Uptown office and monthly terms |
| Uplift Charlotte SEO | Not published | Agency site, directories | Small home service businesses, map-pack work |
| Knowmad | Not published | Agency site, directories | B2B |
| Kashmer Interactive | Not published | Agency homepage | Mid-market regional companies |
| Epic Notion | Not published; no-contract SEO reported | Agency homepage, Thrive list | Institutions, healthcare groups |
| Outpace SEO | $1,000 minimum project; $150 to $199 an hour | Clutch profile | Clutch-verified SEO specialist |
| Helium SEO (Cincinnati) | From $2,500 a month; most campaigns $1,000 to $5,000-plus | Agency Charlotte page | Remote engagement, not a local team |
| Verdict | Three of eleven put a number on a page or a profile. Premier's $2,500 and Helium's $2,500 are the local floor for a managed retainer; Skill Mammoth's $350 to $1,500 tiers are the flat-fee alternative. | ||
For contractors specifically
Charlotte HVAC is a two-season market with 579 listed HVAC businesses competing for about 5,000 local searches a month and a map pack where one company (Morris-Jenkins) holds more reviews than the next four combined. Premier, GoBeyond and Uplift all name home services; Knowmad and Kashmer do not. An agency pitching a Charlotte HVAC, roofing or plumbing company should open with Local Services Ads (billed per lead), then the review engine, then search ads at $51 a click. Our Charlotte HVAC marketing page carries the full numbers, and the North Carolina statewide page covers Raleigh, Greensboro and the Triad.
How to choose between them
Ask where the team sits before anything else, then the usual three: what would you do in the first 90 days, who owns the site and the accounts at exit, and which current client in my industry can I look at today. Then ask for the price before the proposal. The agency pricing transparency piece explains why the number comes last in most pitches and how to move it first.
One local note
Charlotte search splits at the county lines and the lake. Huntersville, Cornelius and Mooresville behave like one Lake Norman market, Matthews and Mint Hill like another, Fort Mill and Rock Hill are South Carolina with a Charlotte phone number, and Ballantyne is its own map pack. Whoever you hire should bring up suburb-level rankings before you do. If the pitch is one Charlotte rank number, the plan was written for a city that does not work this way.
