TL;DR
Austin has more SEO agencies than any city its size in Texas, and on October 19, 2026 exactly two of the ten worth calling print a price. Geek Powered Studios says "full service marketing starting at $3,500/month." Thrive, whose Austin page holds the top organic spot, says campaigns start at $500 a month with a budget form that begins at $2,500. Regex SEO's contact form starts its annual budget bands at $48,000. The rest, TastyPlacement, Digitech, (un)Common Logic, Blackhawk and Complete SEO, quote on the call. Skill Mammoth (ours, remote from Minneapolis) is the flat-fee option at $750, $1,500 or $3,000 a month with no contract. The other thing to know before you book five discovery calls: half of Clutch's "SEO companies in Austin" list is not in Austin. Outpace is in Oklahoma City, Coalition in Los Angeles, Breakline in Surrey in England and SmartSites in New Jersey, all tagged "serves Austin." The ten below either have an Austin address or rank on the Austin search, and the table says what each will tell you before a call.
Disclosure up front: Skill Mammoth is a Minneapolis agency, we serve Texas contractors and practices remotely, and we are on this list. The other nine are Austin shops we would lose deals to in the right matchup, ranked with the same rules as our Denver, Phoenix and Charlotte lists: who each one fits, what they charge when they will say, and what we would tell you off the record.
Read the Google results before you read this list
Search "seo company austin" on October 19, 2026 and the map pack shows Top Austin SEO Company, Complete SEO and a third pin for an Austin SEO, web design and PPC shop. Under it, the organic results are Thrive's Austin page, Semrush's agency directory, TastyPlacement, Built In Austin's roundup, Digitech, Clutch, a Reddit thread and Geek Powered Studios. Three real Austin agencies on page one, with domain ratings between 44 and 51, and two directories doing the rest of the work. That is a winnable page for a local agency with a real client list, and it tells you the agencies ranking are the ones that invested in their own search, which is the first thing to check about an SEO company.
1. Skill Mammoth (ours)
We are the flat-fee option on this page, on purpose. SEO + AI Search runs $750, $1,500 or $3,000 a month on published tiers with no contract and no setup fee, websites are $1,000, $3,000 or $8,000 and owned outright, and AI search optimization (showing up when a homeowner asks ChatGPT for a plumber in Round Rock) is built into the SEO tiers rather than sold as an add-on. The fit is home service contractors and local practices that need the map pack and a site that converts, which is most of the Austin businesses searching this phrase. The honest limitation is that we are not in Austin; if you want a shop you can drive to on Sixth Street, that is TastyPlacement, two entries down. Every line item is on the pricing page.
2. Geek Powered Studios
Austin and San Antonio, with a headline price: "Elite, full service marketing starting at $3,500/month," and a pricing page in the navigation, which puts it in a club of one among the Austin shops here. The client list is split between home services (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, roofing, foundation repair) and healthcare (LASIK, medical weight loss, dentists, plastic surgeons), with a BBB Torch Award, a Fastest Growing Companies award and Google and Semrush partner badges. The $3,500 is the full-service floor, not an SEO-only price, so ask what the SEO line alone runs; the SEO page repeats a PPC reporting paragraph, which suggests the template moved faster than the copy.
3. TastyPlacement
1214 West Sixth Street since 2008, and the closest thing Austin has to a pure SEO institution: a Google Premier Partner for most of a decade, one of four Google Marketing Platform partners in Texas, more than 710 completed SEO campaigns, a WordPress SEO book from Packt and two dozen conference talks. The site publishes no price and no plan; what it publishes is a position, that "$400 a month SEO" is too little to work, and a term, "no commitment, no penalty." Client types are law, legal education, home improvement, finance and multi-location brands. The fit is a business that wants the most credentialed local SEO shop and will negotiate the retainer on the consultation call.
4. Thrive Internet Marketing Agency
The top organic result for the search, from an Arlington, Texas agency with a city page for 25 metros and no Austin street address. Thrive publishes the lowest floor on this list, campaigns from $500 a month on month-to-month terms, with a budget form that starts at $2,500 to $5,000, which is the honest number. Clutch named it a 2026 top Austin agency in five categories at a 5.0. The case studies on the Austin page carry conflicting figures (a home detox client at "+811%" in the headline and "1,003%" in the body), which is worth asking about. The fit is a business that wants every channel from one large vendor; our Thrive comparison covers the pattern.
5. Digitech Web Design Austin
7703 North Lamar, with an UpCity "Top 1 percent" badge, a Clutch "Top Digital Agency in Texas" listing and clients from Universal Music Group to regional hospitals. The pitch is a proprietary "Rank Reactor" and entity SEO plus AI engine optimization for ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude. No price. The headline guarantee, "double your keyword rankings in 45 days," comes with no stated terms, and a guarantee in SEO is a contract question: ask which keywords from what baseline, and what happens if it misses. The fit is a brand that wants design and SEO from one Austin shop and has the budget the client logos imply.
Want the flat-fee option before you book five discovery calls?
Fifteen minutes on your market, your current rankings and whether you even need an agency yet. No pitch deck.
6. Regex SEO
Houston-based with an Austin page and offices listed for Dallas and Boston, "breaking away from restrictive service plans" in favor of custom monthly deliverables. The price signal is the contact form: annual marketing budget bands of $48,000 to $100,000, $100,000 to $500,000 and $500,000 and up, which is $4,000 to $8,300 a month at the bottom. Clients run to medical and plastic surgery practices, law firms, manufacturers, solar and home builders, with awards from UpCity, Marcom and Hermes. The fit is a practice or a builder with a five-figure annual budget that wants a Texas agency with a luxury design bench.
7. (un)Common Logic
5926 Balcones Drive, a mid-market performance agency with SEO, paid media, conversion optimization and answer engine optimization, and a client wall of Blue Apron, Aston Martin and Konica Minolta. A 4.8 from 500-plus clients by its own count, Statesman Top Workplaces most years since 2013, and a separate small-business offering called unFair Advantage. No price. The fit is a B2B, ecommerce or SaaS company that needs analytics and paid media as much as SEO; a two-truck plumber is not the client.
8. Blackhawk Digital Marketing
Austin, ten years, "730+ leading clients," and a vertical focus on health, wellness, beauty and fitness: boutique studios, med spas, salons, clinics and multi-location groups, with HIPAA hosting and AI booking in the service list. No price, and the homepage's booked-appointments counter reads "0" on the day we checked, which is a placeholder rather than a result. The fit is exactly the vertical it names; for a contractor, the better Austin match is Geek Powered or TastyPlacement.
9. Complete SEO
A map-pack pin for the city's own keyword and a Clutch profile at 5.0 across 23 reviews, 10 to 49 staff, a $1,000 minimum project and a $200 to $300 hourly rate, the highest on the Austin list. The website publishes no package pricing. The fit is a business that wants a senior-heavy local team and will pay senior rates; treat Clutch's minimum as a floor for a one-off project and expect monthly SEO to start at two to three times that.
10. The rest of the Clutch page
Clutch's Austin SEO list, read October 19, 2026, is mostly agencies that "serve Austin": Funnel Boost Media (4.9 on 119 reviews, $50 to $99 an hour, San Antonio), Outpace SEO (5.0 on 117, $150 to $199 an hour, Oklahoma City and Charlotte), Coalition Technologies (4.8 on 167, Los Angeles with a Texas address), Breakline (5.0 on 37, a Guildford, England agency that also appears on Clutch's Denver and Indianapolis lists), SmartSites (New Jersey, 369 reviews), Loopex Digital and Disruptive Advertising. Propellic is the one Austin-based entry, at a $5,000 minimum, and it specializes in travel. None of this makes them bad agencies. It means "Austin SEO company" on a directory is a service-area claim, and if being in the room matters to you, check the address before the call.

| Verdict | Two of nine Austin shops will tell you a number before a call. Ask the other seven for the number first; an agency that cannot say what a typical client pays has not decided whether it wants you. | ||
For contractors specifically
Austin's home service market runs on heat and growth: AC repair searches peak from May through September, the suburbs from Cedar Park to Kyle add rooftops every month, and the agencies above that name the trades (Geek Powered, TastyPlacement's home improvement work, ours) understand that a city page for Pflugerville is worth more than a blog post about air quality. Fund Local Services Ads first, because they bill per lead and the LSA cost guide puts most trades at $20 to $80, then the site, then SEO; the contractor SEO guide has the 90-day plan any of these agencies should be able to describe back to you.
How to choose between them
Start with the number. Two agencies here print one, one prints a budget band, and the rest will give it on the call if you ask before the deck; the SEO cost guide has the market ranges to hold it against, and the packages guide says what each price band should contain. Then ask for a client in your industry and your revenue band that ranks in Austin today, by name, and search it yourself. Then ask who owns the site and the content when you leave, because two of the shops above build on their own platforms. And check the address, because on this search the directories are full of agencies that have never seen Lady Bird Lake.

Clutch hourly rates for Austin shops run $50 to $300. A one-location business should expect $1,500 to $5,000 a month for a program with written pages, Google Business Profile work and reviews.
Which Austin SEO companies publish prices?
Geek Powered Studios ($3,500 a month full service) and Thrive ($500 a month start) print a number; Regex SEO prints annual budget bands from $48,000; Skill Mammoth publishes $750, $1,500 and $3,000. TastyPlacement, Digitech, (un)Common Logic, Blackhawk and Complete SEO quote on the call.
Are the agencies on Clutch's Austin list actually in Austin?
About half are not. Outpace is in Oklahoma City and Charlotte, Coalition in Los Angeles, Breakline in Guildford, England, SmartSites in New Jersey and Funnel Boost in San Antonio, all tagged as serving Austin. Propellic, Complete SEO and Digitech are Austin-based. Check the address if being local matters.
Do I need an Austin agency for Austin SEO?
No. Local SEO is done through the Google Business Profile, city pages and reviews, all remote work, which is why Thrive ranks first for the city from Arlington and why we serve Texas from Minneapolis. A local agency helps when you want in-person meetings or local referral relationships; it does not change the ranking work.
Is Skill Mammoth an Austin SEO company?
No, and we say so above. We are a Minneapolis agency serving contractors and practices nationally, including Texas, at $750, $1,500 or $3,000 a month with no contract. If a local shop matters to you, TastyPlacement and Geek Powered are the Austin picks on this list.
